Catfish Pecek or commonly known as Pecel Lele is a food based on catfish which is popular and originates from Lamongan, East Java. Although it is called Pecel Lele, but in this food there is no element of peanut sauce like pecel-pecel in general.
Beginning of Story

It is said that the story began when Sunan Giri visited a village called Barang (estimated to be located in Glagah, Lamongan).
Then he went around and stopped by a hut because he was interested in the torch lights which were still on.
Then found in this hut was a widow (Mbok Rondo) who was sewing clothes.
Then between Sunan Giri and this woman was involved in a long chat until midnight.
Until finally Sunan Giri also said goodbye and without realizing he left behind some heritage.
Long story short, Sunan Giri realized this and then sent someone named Bayapati to take it.
Bayapati can take the heirloom easily enough.
But, the widow who seemed to want to have the object knew and then yelled at him as a thief.
Instantly the community also joined chasing Bayapati until finally this man jumped into a pond full of catfish.
